CTN continues the press campaign on Blue Economy

Marine Technology Centre(CTN) develops, together with two companies from Murcia, Camar and Piscifactorias Albaladejo, an Intelligent System for Feeding Control (SICA), with the aim to provide advanced technology to aquiculture producers in order to reduce the costs and boost the efficiency.

Fish feed is the main cost of any fish farm (between 40-50%). Therefore, the efficiency of the feedind process, and specially, the feed supply optimization, are key factors to increase the profitabily of the busines.
The aim of the DEMO BLUESMARTFEED project, financed by the European Comissión, trought the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund, is to validate the SICA technology (Intelligent System for feedem Control), under real conditions offshore, with the aim of purpose of accelerating its acceptance in the market. SICA technology promotes more susttainable aquaculture and will also allow fish farmers to signicantly improve the profits from production. .
